Author

As an aspiring amateur novelist since 2006, I have a number of works in progress I used to exp lore different writing styles and genres to discover my own personal style and niche.

Most of my efforts have been part of the National Novel Writing Month Challenge.  Each November, thousands of writers get together either virtually or in person in an attempt to write a complete novel of at least 50,000 words within thirty days.  The effort forces an author to set aside their internal editor and write furiously to the end.  This approach is especially successful for me since I have a tendency to revise as I write – a sure fire way to get a great chapter or two in an unfinished work.

(2006) Quest for the Dragon King.

(2006) A Priest, a Rabbi, an Imam, and a Scientist walk into a Bar. Vacationers face their pasts and an uncertain future when they are stranded on a deserted island when their cruise ship is evacuated as a hurricane approaches. (Nanowrimo 2006 winner)

(2007) H5N1. An influenza outbreak threatens to wipe out society as scientists struggle to find a cure. (Nanowrimo 2007 winner)

(2009) Wildtype. The birth of a child with a genetic disorder threatens to destroy a Utopian society. (Nanowrimo 2009 winner)

(2011) Summer of Phear: A Nathaniel Smythe mystery. (Nanowrimo 2011 attempt) A rookie police detective struggles for acceptance as a serial killer seeks to become the ultimate predator during a hot Philadelphia summer.
